I have a direct and confident writing style and my many commissions vouch for my award-winning ability to create great content. I have interviewed top-flight footballers, politicians, writers, business leaders and erotic dancers. I have spoken to people bereaved by suicide and many who are suffering ill health or injustice. I shared tales of two lovers on a plane to Belize for a travel magazine and I have laid out 40 years of my maverick great aunt’s diaries in the national press.

Corporate clients have included global retailers, hotel groups, banks, international dental groups and professional services – from building communication strategies to delivering expert print and digital publications, I work with associated teams to fulfil major project work which has attracted national and European industry awards. Currently, I support Flex Storytellers (www.flex.uk.com) as a writer, editor and project manager for their global business clients.
Words Publishing Ltd – I built this award-winning company from scratch after a single call from a national retailer invited me to pitch for their company magazine. I bought a suit, won the contract and created a core team of exceptional writers and designers. Our client base grew through hearsay rather than big marketing spend and people came to us because they trusted in our reputation for accountability and excellence. They knew us all by name and the relationships we built over many years were rooted in friendship, professionalism and integrity.
After graduating in English and Politics from Newcastle University I trained with the BBC and worked at various local radio stations as a news and documentary reporter before switching to press journalism and becoming features editor at the Newcastle Chronicle. A move south drew me to the press desk of Bristol City Council and in time I became an established magazine writer across parenting, women’s, travel and business titles.
