TREBY SWINGLER
BIO
Writing: my business and my pleasure
Celebrating 30 years as a professional writer, editor and communications planner for magazines and businesses, the approach I always take to my work is robust, exacting and results-driven. I begin every new project with a period of deep research, examine client and reader brand, develop a plan and deliver an end-product that gets noticed and prompts debate. All my work is rooted in a belief that exceptional content explains, challenges and creates noise. Anyone can put pen to paper but what writers do is communicate.

Filling an empty space with words that stir and make a difference is my only drive. In business and in fiction this is all that matters – that with imagination and understanding you can place a story where nothing was before and make its presence absolute.

This standard-setting is as essential for my paid commissions as it is in my creative work. I write short stories, novels and poetry and my work has been praised by David Almond, Michele Roberts and the late Helen Dunmore. I am now editing novels for publication and these are scheduled for release in 2024.
